Gaia

In this book James Lovelock, inventive, unorthodox, ingenious and a latter-day Darwin, sets out in an accessible and fully illustrated form his theory that the Earth is alive, and can be seen as a gigantic living super-organism. He calls the theory "Gaia", and in the course of describing it, Gaia, medicine for an ailing planet also subjects the planet to a mild-life health check. During this he addresses important questions: Is Gaia healthy or sick? How long can Gaia absorb the impacts of human activity?
