Forty years ago, campus guru Spencer Mallon invited his most fervent followers to attend a secret ritual in a local meadow. All that remained was a gruesomely dismembered body - and the shattered of all who were present.
Now, one man is trying to understand what happened to his wife and friends all those years ago by writing a book about that horrible night.
