Dogon

These beautiful photographs capture the essence of the Dogon people of Mali, whose way of life is closely connected to the natural environment. The villagers' sounds, proverbs, and culture are exposed through stunning images of rare trees, dense stone and earth, and caves carved out as dwellings. The photos record the Dogon people's gestures and attitudes, observe their objects and customs, scrutinize bodies and faces, and probe expressions that openly convey a noble simplicity.
