Los Angeles County Museum of Art jellemzők

The collections of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art have rapidly expanded to include more than 100,000 works of art, from prehistory to today, from every part of the world, and from all media, including painting and sculpture, prints and drawings, decorative arts, costume and textiles and photography. This guide features texts written by the museum's curators and nearly 200 reproductions (including 184 in colour) of works from each of the museum's eleven departments. These have been integrated into five sections that reveal the collections' remarkable depth and range: Asian Art, European Art, Latin American Art, American Art, Modern and Contemporary Art. Masterpieces in the Museum include works by artists as diverse as Raphael, Degas, Picasso, David Hockney and Bill Viola. Among the decorative arts represented are Ancient Greek, Islamic and Chinese ceramics; furniture by Tiffany; a cloak from pre-Columbian Peru and a tapestry from 18th-century France.
