The Birds of America jellemzők

This book of postcards reproduces thirty plates from John James Audubon's masterpiece, The Birds of America. Audubon broke with the nineteenth-century tradition of recording wildlife from stuffed examples by painting each bird life-sized and naturally posed within its native habitat. The reproductions presented here are from an edition owned by the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh, one of only 134 complete sets of Birds known to exist today.
